How i work

My primary role as an interior designer is to capture the essence of my client’s unique personality, and to translate this understanding into a complete interior design scheme that is perfectly suited to  their individual taste and lifestyle..

My 25+ years of experience means that I am adept at designing a wide range of  interior styles: whether it be traditional and co-ordinated, modern and on-trend, informal and relaxed, quirky and eclectic, I am comfortable designing beautiful interiors of all kinds.

Design Process

The initial step for any project is to define the use of space and the people who will be using it.

The next step involves the design of suitable floor plans, colour and materials, furnishings and finishes.

Depending on the scale of the project, this can involve any number of the following design stages:

  • Floor plan design
  • Interior product selection
  • Custom furniture design
  • Built-in cabinetry design
  • Window treatment design
  • Lighting design
  • Paint colour schemes
  • Kitchen design
  • Bathroom design
  • Drawings, sketches and sample/mood boards
  • Written specifications for contractors
  • Coordinating and monitoring the work of both trades people and suppliers
  • Ordering of fixtures and fittings
  • On-going site meetings with clients and/or trades people
  • Personal shopping to high street and trade show-rooms
  • Art and accessory selection

Building Work

In the event of any extensive building work, I am very experienced in working with architects, structural engineers, builders and trades people of all sorts. I also have a large and varied address book of  trusted and highly skilled craftsmen and trades who I am very happy to introduce to my clients.

I am able to purchase items related to the interior from a wide variety of sources and I have an in depth knowledge of the interiors market on all price levels – both in the trade and retail market.
