This school chapel in Hertfordshire needed to accommodate a variety of group activities: church services, book groups, 1-1 counselling, choral practice, prayer meetings – to name but a few! I designed the space so that all the furniture was portable by the students and flexible enough to be able to move around easily according to the activity going on that day. I loved the idea of blending mid-century classic modern furniture with pieces by contemporary classic designers and makers. The idea was to make it relevant for the students – as well as a blast from the past for the staff.
